FAYY presents the Manman Panda Watch, its debut timepiece and the first chapter in its mission to bring Chinese art and heritage into watchmaking. Conceived as a Métiers d'Art timepiece and known internally as Project FA001, the watch is entered in the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2026 in the Artistic Crafts category.
At its heart is a portrait of Manman, a wild giant panda imagined by FAYY, painted by hand on the underside of the sapphire crystal using Chinese inner-painting, a national-level intangible cultural heritage craft. Through this reverse-painting process, the sapphire ceases to be merely a protective surface and becomes the art form itself.

Chinese Inner Painting on Sapphire
Manman Panda is painted on the underside of the sapphire crystal using Chinese inner-painting. Requiring around 3500 brushstrokes per dial, it is executed in reverse and sealed within the crystal, a demanding craft that handforms the sapphire into the canvas.
